Welcome New & Potential Athletes
Welcome new and potential athletes to the web page of Cerritos Cross Country. While some athletes join because running is their sport, our team provides an environment that allows those who are "A" caliber with those who may need some time to develop and create an environment where both can co-exist. While the training for the more elite athletes of the program is more intense and the opportunities are greater (such as varsity races in Hawaii/Oregon/Fresno and a varsity camp), the team provides many events where athletes of all levels can participate including team bonding games, team outings (bonfires, meals, bowling, amusement parks), team potlucks and carboloads, Mammoth Camp and more! These opportunities to meet others will allow you to become part of the Cerritos Cross Country ohana in no time!
While there is a lot of running involved since this is a competitive sport on campus, the coaching staff has organized the workouts to fit your needs are a beginning or advanced runner and will help develop your skills as you progress through the program. Therefore, you do not need to be a super star runner or even love running to join. All you need is the mental focus and dedication to work hard towards a goal and the ability to connect with others and have fun! Even if you don't have that, we can help you with our annual adoptions where you will be paired with an older member of the team who will help guide you through the program! So don't miss out and join the others who have already joined our program including the ASB President & ASB members, the Homecoming Queen & other dance courts, the valedictorians, MUNers, band members, athletes in other sports, drama students, the club presidents and officers (including Key Club, NHS, CSF) and more!
