The Suburban League Finals is worth half of the points of league and will be held at La Mirada Regional Park on November 4. This meet will be the final meet of the season for the Dons. The top athletes will be selected to the CIF team.

ABC District Championships (9/15)
The ABC District Championships always tends to be one of the more competitive meets of the season for the Dons. Under the heat of the afternoon, the toughest team tends to pull out the victories.
The Dons hold an edge in most of the divisions including a 10-5 records in the boys frosh-soph division, a 11-4 record in the boys junior varsity division, a 14-1 record in the girls junior varsity division, and a 12-3 record in the girls varsity division. The boys varsity division has been the most competitive division with Gahr winning 7, Cerritos 5, and Artesia 3, however, Cerritos has won four of the last six meetings. The boys varsity team will try to defend their title against a very talented boys team from Gahr, while the girls will look for revenge on last year's loss to Gahr, who finished 1-2-3 on the Dons. Gahr has been able to block the sweep, winning one division in each of the past two years, however, the Dons depth looks to give it another shot in 2010. Varsity Girls

 Kevin Cook Spirit Run (9/4)
The Kevin Cook Spirit Run will be held at Mile Square Park on the east side near the intersection of Euclid and Warner. Athletes attending should depart Cerritos no later than 5:30am to arrive at the park by 6:30am.
The run commemorates the life of Kevin Cook, a former athlete of Pacifica and a teammate of our coach Damon Gohata. Seniors who participate in this event may apply for a scholarship provided by the Kevin Cook Memorial Foundation. Raffle tickets and taco lunches will be sold at the meet. Palos Verdes Long Run (8/28)
The Palos Verdes long run begins at Malaga Plaza Shopping Center and runs along Palos Verdes Drive North for approximately five miles before turning right. The run is a tough run and is only suggested for boys A and girls A/A-. We will meet for the run at 6:45am and will return around 12:30pm.

The summer ending bonfire will take place on Friday, August 27, 2010 from Noon to 9pm at Bolsa Chica State Beach! Each athlete should sign up for a food or drink item to bring! National Jr. Olympics Championships (7/27)
Thien-Nam To, Jessica Sunio, and Melody Lim will travel to Sacramento, CA for the annual USATF National Junior Olympic Championships where athletes from around the country will compete for the title of National Jr. Olympic Champion in the 2000m Steeplechase! Cheer on your Dons as they attempt to be the first Cerritos athletes to be crowned with this honor! Thien-Nam To returned from a second place finish at the National Youth Championship in Lisle, Illinois running to a PR of 6:25 shortly after winning the Region 15 Championships in Las Vegas. Jessica Sunio and Melody Lim finished 1-2 with times of 8:25 and 8:34. It's one of the toughest races in track so show your support for them before they leave on July 26!

Glavinich Hill Repeats (7/24)
Saturday we will head to the giant hill at West Coyote Hill Tree Park where hill repeat loops will be completed. A combination strength and endurance workout will help athletes work on strategies in the hills and surely develop mental and physical strength. This workout is a tougher workout! Time Trial 2010
The team's next event will take place on Friday where the Dons will host their annual time trial. The time trial is an intra-squad competition where athletes compete as individuals as well as members of their grade-level teams.
